Located on the third floor of the 1795 House, the Top of the Tavern was the quarters for the Hodby family – the Inn’s original owners. It is designed in a French Country style featuring buttery tones accented with soft blues and shades of gold. The main room offers a king bed with tufted micro-suede headboard, sitting area with gas fireplace, sofa, wingback chair, window seats, coffee table and wall-to-wall carpeting throughout.
Adjoining the bedroom is a comfortable dressing room containing a queen-size bed, vanity, and cozy reading nook with views of the village and beautiful White Mountains beyond. Separating the two rooms is a bright traditional bathroom with vaulted ceiling and skylights. All of this makes the Top of the Tavern a fantasy for stepping back in time and perfect for couples traveling together, friends weekends, and small families with older kids.
Varying by season and like all rooms, rates always include afternoon tea, full and hearty breakfast.
Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival result in forfeiture of the cost of one night’s room and tax; cancellations within 72 hours forfeit the cost of the entire stay.
