We recently enjoyed a two-day stay at RHI, to celebrate both our 46th anniversary and my second visit there since I was a child 55 years ago. What a lovely, luxurious experience in this beautifully maintained, charming historic inn. Our comfortable suite, The Nest, was perched on the top level – a steep climb up two flights of narrow stairs (people in the 1700s must have been built differently!). Phoebe Grace, the innkeeper that day, greeted us warmly and gave us a personal tour of the place, offering to help with our bags. Things we especially liked: the very comfortable bed, tackling a couple of famous handmade Stave jigsaw puzzles which they offer guests to check out, and two fabulous gourmet dinners in the 24 Carrot dining room, plus delicious included breakfasts. Every employee we met was personable, kind, and helpful.
