Try Kayaking…it’s for everyone… Really!

woman having a great time paddling in a kayak on the Clyde River

Kayaking and paddling has become one of the most popular outdoor activities in Vermont, even for those who have never done it before. The best part is that there is a river, lake, or pond offering a level of paddling for everyone.  There are awesome Class II and Class III waters here; but most choose Class I flat water kayaking allowing for a fun combination of good paddling, wildlife viewing, and exploring pull-offs along the way.

Seeking a relaxing paddle experience? Consider a 2 hour guided kayak tour With North Country Kayak on Moore Reservoir – just ten minutes from the inn.  Everything you need is provided for you. Just show up ready to explore this stunning body of water, interesting coastlines, a secret beach, and wildlife.  Your guide will provide careful instruction if needed. This is perfect for beginners.
If you prefer a more exhilarating paddle adventure, North Country Kayak also offers a variety of exciting half day and full day river treks.

Another awesome option: Check out this amazing 3 hour paddle adventure package –  We have teamed up with the great folks at Clyde River Recreation to create a fantastic kayaking trip. We take care of all the details.  All you have to do is show up at Clyde River Recreation in Charleston, VT, a lovely one-hour drive from the inn.  Your package includes choice of a tandem kayak or two single kayaks, all safety gear, drop-in and take out assistance, shuttle service back to their recreation station, AND a delicious picnic lunch to top off your perfect day on the river.  You bring the sunblock & camera (in a ziplock bag of course). Don’t pass up this experience.  Before you know it, you’re going to want your own kayak.
