A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of meeting Lisa & Richard from Ontario. It was their first visit to Rabbit Hill Inn. Soon after their departure, Lisa wrote about her experience on her blog. She shares details and pictures of what they did while visiting Rabbit Hill Inn and the Northeast Kingdom. Lisa gladly invites you to her blog – http://lisagouletdesign.blogspot.com/2010/06/little-vermont-love.html . Perhaps it will help you plan your next visit to RHI. While you are there, be sure to poke around – you’ll find some wonderful interior decorating information. Thanks for sharing, Lisa!!
p.s. Keep a watchful eye on this blog. We’ll be sharing more guest writings from time to time. If you wish to be a part, please send us your writings, pictures, and video. We’ll share it with all your fellow Rabbit Hill friends.

As many of you know, we joyfully put our heart and soul into our life as innkeepers. As a result, we frequently receive the gift of heartfelt, kind, supportive words from you, our Guests. Some are share verbally, some write in our room journals, and many choose to share their thoughts with others via Facebook, Tripadvisor, and lots of other sites.
We thank you all so very much for expressing your thoughts and continuing to tell others. As we try hard to “fill your cup” while you are with us, know that you certainly continue to “fill our cup” as well. Now as we begin our 17th year at Rabbit Hill Inn, it is your kindness and love that keeps our passion for innkeeping alive. For this we are incredibly grateful. You keep us going. You are the wind in our sail.
All of us here at Rabbit Hill Inn are blown away and very proud of all the wonderful comments. Here are a few most recent examples of comments we have discovered on popular review sites:
“Unpretentious Perfection”… I can’t ever remember thinking that something was perfect. It’s not that I am unusually picky — but I do notice everything, both small and large. The Rabbit Hill Inn is perfect in every way. From ambiance to appointments to attentiveness to everything associated with food at the Inn, I cannot think of any way to make my experience better. Linda and I strongly recommend Rabbit Hill to anyone who wants to step into a world of unpretentious perfection. Our hats are off to Leslie, Brian and their remarkable chef, Matt Secich. We cannot imagine warmer, more caring hosts! We will definitely be back.
“Heaven. The place to rest your soul” – We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and stayed until Sunday. When we opened the door, it was as if we were in an friend’s home. I cannot say enough about the Rabbit Hill Inn. The rooms, the staff, the owners, the food, the lack of no TV for a weekend. And the amazing puzzles to boggle your mind. Each room is decorated beautifully with amenities abound. They truly go out of their way to make you feel as if you are a guest in their home. Cannot wait to go back
We just want you to know it is our pleasure and an honor to care for you while you are with us. Thank you for giving us that opportunity. Thank you for being part of our RHI family and for continuing to tell others about us.

Perhaps you never thought you’d see the words “spring break” and Rabbit Hill Inn in the same sentence. Don’t fret. It’s not what you think. No crazy antics or wet tee shirt contests here. On the other hand, our version of spring break is far from calm and quiet.
As usual, we closed the first three weeks of April. But the inn didn’t go to sleep – it was quite the opposite. The music got pumped up. Our fantastic housekeeping staff began their strategic “attack” on every nook and crannie of every room while Donn tackled the windows. He HATES washing windows (we have way too many). And Charlie started work on the gardens.
Several service vans surrounded the inn. For the next few weeks, we hung out with our plumbers, the electrician (nicknamed Sparky), Jay, our paint & paper guy, the chimney sweeps, and the propane guys. Aside from all that, our contractors, Scott and Martin showed up with their crew to begin the “extreme makeover” of the Tavern’s Secret. Total demolition (they love swinging those sledgehammers), followed by total renovation. This is spring break – Rabbit Hill style. For those who follow us on Facebook, you have witnessed much of the action, the demolition, and the progress.
As of April 23rd, the pulse of the inn is now back to normal. Guests are back. The inn looks wonderful. And delicious aromas are wafting from the kitchen once again. 25 brand new stave puzzles arrived today. And all of the Northeast Kingdom is blooming with spring scent and color.
To complete our “spring cleaning”, even our website is undergoing some “tuning up”. And this blog is going on a short break as part of that project. But it will be back soon – better than ever!

January 16, 2010

This was our 16th New Year’s Eve celebration at Rabbit Hill Inn. As always, the house was happily full. Many of our guests have been welcoming the New Year at RHI for several years (10 – 20 years for some). Others experienced their first RHI New Year celebration. In a blink of an eye, they were warmly welcomed to joined in the fun. It’s often been said, “New Year is a 3-4 day event at Rabbit Hill Inn”. It’s true. It’s more than just champagne and a fun party on the 31st (and it is ALL that!). More so, it’s a very special experience, where guests unwind and reflect on the year past, celebrate the incoming New Year in style, and then savor their getaway time with relaxed anticipation of the year ahead.
From morning to night, the common rooms are filled with genuine conversation and laughter. Yet, quiet and relaxed moments magically appear too. Friendships, old and new, are nurtured and enjoyed. It’s not intrusive or “too much”. It naturally is “just right” for each one’s desire. Do I dare say ” perfect”?
From our perspective, this warm ambiance is exactly what Rabbit Hill Inn is all about. Here, it doesn’t take a holiday to create such a setting. It just happens organically – every day. And for this, we are so very grateful. Thank you for helping us create this chemistry that sets RHI apart from so many others. You help us make this dear home the special place that it truly is.
Our entire Rabbit Hill Inn family wishes you a wonderful 2010, filled with many blessings and answered prayers.
